Dynit Adds More ‘Prison School’ Italian Anime Releases & Cover Art

Prison School Italian Volume 1 HeaderThe 2015 anime series Prison School recently found itself with a pickup by Italian distributor Dynit and a few more details came out. We previously knew that the company will be bringing the show out in a DVD/BD combo release with four episodes per volume kicking off on May 25th, 2016. Now, the distributor has set the release date for the next two volumes of the series. The second is scheduled for a July 20th, 2016 release and the third and final for an august 31st, 2016 release. The show is also getting a pretty good treatment in terms of audio as it’ll have the original Japanese language track as well as an Italian dub alongside Italian subtitles.

The TV series was directed by Tsutomu Mizushima and was based on the scripts from Michiko Yokote and character designs by Junichiro Taniguchi, who is also served as the chief animation director. It was animated by JC Staff.

Originally starting in 2011, Akira Hiramoto’s Kangoku Gakuen has nineteen volumes published so far. The series is doing fairly well in Japan with over four million copies in print so far and the authors previous works, Ago Nashi Gen to Ore Monogatari and Yarisugi Companion to Atashi Monogatari have had adaptations in the last few years in the realm of mobile animation and live action film.

The cast for the series includes Hiroshi Kamiya asKyosh, Katsuyuki Konishi as Gakuto, Kenichi Suzumura as Shingo, Daisuke Namikawa as Joe, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Reiji “Andre” Andō, Sayaka Ohara as Mari, Shizuka Itou as Meiko, Kana Hanazawa as Hana, Keiji Fujiwara as Chairman Kurihara, Chinami Hashimoto as Chiyo Kurihara and You Taichi as Anzu Yokoyama.

The manga is licensed in North America by Yen Press while Funimation has the anime rights.

Plot concept: Hachimitsu Academy, known for its strict academic standards and even stricter school code, is making a giant change this year. In the first time in school history, they are allowing boys to be admitted. As Fujino Kiyoshi starts his first day at Hachimitsu Academy he is shocked to find out that there are only 4 other guys in the entire school, making the ratio of girls to boys 200:1. And to their dismay, not one of the thousand girls will talk to them or even acknowledge them. But Kiyoshi and the guys are about to find out about the shadow student council that has been threatening the female students about interacting with male students.
