2 min read

Psycho-Pass The Movie Header 2-6The folks at KAZÉ Deutschland are bringing out the PSycho-Pass: The Movie feature in Germany this coming week and it’s one of those events that I just love to check out. With the way films and TV series can come across very differently depending on the language, I’ve really dug various German dubs of anime shows the past year that have gotten trailers streamed for them as there are some that definitely fit a lot better in some ways. What do you think of this one?

The film is approximately 120 minutes with the original story from Gen Urobuchi and a screenplay by him and Makoto Fukami with Akira Amano on character design, produced by Production IG.

Plot concept: Year 2116 – The Japanese government begins to export the Sibyl System unmanned drone robots to troubled countries, and the system spreads throughout the world. A state in the midst of a civil war, SEAUn (the South East Asia Union), brings in the Sibyl System as an experiment. Under the new system, the coastal town of Shambala Float achieves temporary peace and safety. But then SEAUn sends terrorists to Japan. They slip through the Sibyl System and then attack from within. The shadow of a certain man falls on this incident. In charge of the police, Tsunemori travels to Shambala Float to investigate. The truth of justice on this new ground will become clear.

The English-language adaptation of the film has Zach Bolton set as the ADR director with John Burgmeier overseeing Jared Hedges, Joel Bergen and Alex Muniz as the script writers. The cast includes Kate Oxley as Akane, Robert McCollum as Kogami, Josh Grelle as Ginoza, Cherami Leigh as Shimotsuki, Lindsay Seidel as Kunizuka, Z Charles Bolton as Hinakawa, Lydia Mackay as Shion, Mike McFarland as Sugo, Michael Federico as Saiga, Stephanie Young as Dominator, Jason Liebrecht as Nicholas Wong and Major Attaway as Desmond Rutaganda.
