After being added back in the summer of 2014, we learned back in February that  Hulu’s streaming rights were going to expire on April 22nd, 2016 for Saber Marionette R. While we expected that it would get a renewal at some point after expiration, the folks at Bandai Visual have gotten ahead of it a bit and have changed the expiration for it to April 21st, 2018. So fans have a good bit of time to check it out – especially since there’s some sort of new project in the works.

The service currently has the three episode OVA run available in both the dubbed and subtitled versions of the series. The events in this series take place after the J series and advances it quite a few years with a few changes to designs, but the characters are largely the same in many ways. Those who have a Hulu Plus subscription can watch this show on their TV and mobile devices.

Plot concept: Romana is a kingdom far in the future, where the waning female population has been supplemented by androids called Marionettes. When the evil Face is freed from prison, he executes a vicious plan to overthrow the kingdom. The only surviving member of the royal family is Junior, a harmless and wide-eyed innocent boy, who has three courageous Marionettes
