Media Blasters picked up the rights to the first season of My Wife is the Student Council President! recently and has done some announcements, including that that Brittany Lauda will be playing Ui Wakana and Matt Shipman will be playing Hayato Izumi in the dub for the series .Now the company has taken to Twitter to announce that the series will be getting a Blu-ray release. No date for it was revealed and it was confirmed that it would be worked on after the Rio: Rainbow Gate and Juden-chan: Recharged Blu-ray releases are completed.
The first season of the series was directed by Hiroyuki Furukawa and it starred Ayana Taketatsu as Ui Wakana, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Hayato Izumi, Minami Tsuda as Rin Misumi, Aoi Fujimoto as Ayane Niikura, Yue Sugiyama as Karen Fujisaki, Juri Nagatsuma as Mato Saruwatari and Tomoko Kaneda as Misato Wakana. It was animated at studio Seven.
Nakata’s prior work of Chu-Bra previously saw an anime adaptation several years ago.
Plot Concept: The story begins with Izumi Hayato running to be student body president. But when a beautiful girl swings in promising the liberalization of love while flinging condoms into the audience, he ends up losing to her and becoming the vice president. At the student council meeting, the newly-elected president invites herself over to Izumi’s house, where she promptly announces she is to become Izumi’s wife thanks to an agreement – facilitated by alcohol – made between their parents when they were only 3.
