First ‘Doctor Strange’ Poster Arrives Ahead of Trailer

2 min read

Doctor Strange Image 2It’s a big week for Marvel on the marketing and promotion front as Jimmy Kimmel has a lot of Captain America: Civil War things going on but also bringing on other Marvel related actors and properties to dig into. Tonight will be the debut of the first trailer for Doctor Strange and ahead of that the first theatrical poster for the film has been released. This is one of those kinds of posters you don’t see too often, especially for a big budget film, as it’s a solitary figure with the Sanctum as the background. When you skip using the actor’s face or doing the usual photoshop mashup you’ll generally get a good bit more interest since it has an air of mystery about it.

Directed by Scott Derrickson, it will star Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen, Benedict Wong and Tilda Swinton. It’s set to debut on November 4th, 2016.

Plot concept: The film will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.
