With the first two films out and some home video release material there as well, the third feature film in the Sinbad trilogy has had a rough time of it. Originally scheduled for a March 2016 debut, it was pushed back to May earlier this year without a firm date for a while and no formal title. The film is still missing a formal title but it was recently set for a May 14th, 2016 debut and now Cinema Today has a new trailer for it.
The main cast from the previous films with:
- Tomo Muranaka as Sinbad
- Momoko Tanabe as Sana
- Nao Nagasawa as Ali
- Takeshi Kaga as Captain Razak
- While Tadashi Miyazawa has joined as Najib
The first film was directed by Shinpei Miyashita based on the script by Kaeko Hayafune and overall composition by Hiroyuki Kawasaki. Yoshiharu Satou served as both chief animation director and the character designer. Nippon Animation and Shirogumi produced the project.
Original film concept: The story begins when Sinbad and his friends run afoul of a storm while riding on the ship Bahal. Ali sights an island, which the ship heads toward to make repairs. Sinbad and Sana board a dinghy and land on the island. Sana sees a vision of a mgical lamp, and Sinbad and the others set out to find it.
