With the North American release out today, Hanabee has revealed their pickup of the Australian license for the Parasyte series, which looks like it’ll mirror the US release. Hanabee has set a June 9th, 2016 release for the first half of the series that will get a DVD release, a Blu-ray release, and a combo limited edition release. That edition is limited to just 500 copies and will have stickers, and authenticity card, and a microfiber cloth.
In North America, the show is getting a regular edition in addition to the combo CE edition and we’ve got the look below at the DVD and Blu-ray packaging design. The releases currently list the clean opening and closing pieces as the only extras.
The series was directed by Kenichi Shimizu at Madhouse with series composition put together by Shoji Yonemura. Tadashi Hiamatsu handled the character designs for the series. The Japanese cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki as Izumi, Aya Hirano as Migi, Kana Hanazawa as Satomi Murano, Miyuki Sawashiro as Kana Kimishima, Atsuko Tanaka as Ryoko Tamiya, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Uragami, Kiyono Yasuno as Yuko Tachikawa and Rena Maeda as Akiho Suzuki.
Plot concept: It’s the ultimate nightmare. One minute Shinichi Izumi is a normal teenager asleep in his bed. The next he’s been infected with a deadly parasitic organism determined to devour his brain and turn his body into the planet Earth’s new apex predator. But Shinichi partially foils the attack and, instead of being consumed, finds that the creature known as Migi has taken the place of his right hand.
