New Mamoru Hosoda ‘The Boy and the Beast’ Interview Arrives

Mamoru HosodaWith the roll out of the new film The Boy and the Beast, the folks at Madman Entertainment in Australia have managed a pretty good if short interview with director Mamoru Hosoda. Clocking in at five minutes, it provides some good question and answers about his views on the film while also bringing in some brief clips from the feature as well.

The Boy and the Beast in Theaters March 4 at these locations in North America.

Originally in theaters back on July 11th, 2015 in Japan, the film is being localised as The Boy and the Beast. The film is an original work for Hosoda and has been in development for quite some time. Hosoda is joined by Takaaki Yamashita and Tatsuzo Nishida as animation directors. It already has international distribution outside of Asia as Gaumont made an early investment in the project to acquire the rights.

Fans of Mamoru Hosoda’s works have gotten a good bit of attention overseas in the last few years with his film projects such as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time,Summer Wars and more recently Wolf Children back in 2012.

But when a deep darkness threatens to throw the human and beast worlds into chaos, the strong bond between this unlikely pair will be put to the ultimate test—a final showdown that will only be won if the two can finally work together using all of their combined strength and courage.
