The push for a big international run with Beyblade Burst is underway but there’s a lot to still reveal about the Japanese broadcast that’s coming up and all its home market angles. With some of the main production previously set we’re now starting to dig into the casting side a bit along with a new key visual update to the official site that you can see to the right. The announced main cast now includes:
- Marina Inoue as Valto Aoi
- Junya Enoki as Shu Kurenai
- Fumihiro Okabayashi as Rantaro Kiyama
- Tsubasa Yonaga as Kensuke Midorikawa
Previously, it was Nelvana that worked n the localization for the show and also did the two North American original series that we’ve seen over the years. At this point they haven’t revealed who they’ll be working with to localize it, but the chance for it to be a bit less cut up and reworked is definitely there now. Sunrights is working to get the broadcast distribution out there as well, which will factor into how it’s produced/localized here after it makes its Japanese premiere this April.
The series is directed by Katsuhito Akiyama based on the scripts from Hideki Sonoda. Animated at OLM, the character designs are produced by Toshiaki Ohashi.
Plot concept: The revolves around Bart Aoi, a hot-blooded kid who loves to attack and wields a Beyblade named Valkyrie. His close friend Shū Kurenai is an elite Blader who is a genius but still puts in a lot of effort, and wields the Beyblade named Spriggan.
