We learned earlier this month that the folks at Kaze Deutschland have put together their plans for the German release of The Rolling Girls and they were looking to do it in two releases. The show is getting both DVD and Blu-ray editions that were tentatively planned release on April 27th, 2016 but have now been formally scheduled for a May 27th, 2016 debut. The two releases will feature the original Japanese language as well as a new German language dub. They’ll be priced at 29.99 euro and 34.99 euro respectively.

The show comes from Wit Studio and it has some really appealing designs to it. The series Japanese cast includes Ari Ozawa as Nozomi Moritomo, Rina Hidaka as Yukina Kosaka, Risa Taneda as Ai Hibiki and Yumiri Hanamori as Aya Misonochi. The series premiered in Japan on January 10th, 2015.

Funimation’s produced a Broadcast Dub for English language fans whose cast includes Felicia Angelle as Nozomi, Monica Rial as Yukina, Jad Saxton as Ai, Leah Clark as Chiaya, Colleen Clinkenbeard as Masami, Jamie Marchi as Shigyo, Rachel Robinson as Haruka and Tyson Rinehart as Momiyama. The winter 2015 anime series set Colleen Clinkenbeard as the ADR director and Clifford Chapin as the assistant ADR director working off the dub script by Bonny Clinkenbeard, who is working off of the Japanese translation by Nita Lieu. That obviously won’t be included here.

Plot concept: Gun your engines and get ready for the full-throttle adventure of The Rolling Girls, the first original anime from the studio that brought you Attack on Titan! In the wake of the Great Tokyo War, Japan – as the world once knew it – no longer exists. What remains is a fragmented network of independent nations, each ruled by a prophet known as a Mosa. Every Mosa commands an army, or Mob, as they seek to conquer anyone in their path. Enter Nozomi, Yukina, Ai, and Chiaya. Together, these intrepid and adorable girls travel across battle-ravaged Japan, seeking to transform themselves – and their world!
