Ooyasan HeaderYou can never be sure of what you’re going to get for a home video release when it comes to short-form shows – if you get a release at all in any reasonable time frame. The winter 2016 anime series Ooya-san wa Shishunki! has gotten its reveal with what’s going on with it as it’s getting three editions that will be released on April 27th, 2016. The show will get a DVD priced at 2,800 yen, a regular edition Blu-ray at 3,800 yen, and a limited edition Blu-ray at 4,800 yen. Each set contains the twelve episode run while on-disc extras include the clean opening, promotional video, and a planned commentary track that has the main cast involved. The limited edition will come with a 100 page book with intervies and more material.

The series was directed by Yuuki Ogawa working with Atsuki Shimizu, who also did the character designs and served as the chief animation director. Seven Arcs Pictures handled the animation for the series. The cast includes Yurika Kubo as Chie Satonaka, Takashi Kondo as Maeda-s, Hitomi Nabatame as Reiko, Ibuki Kodi as Mayu and Erii Yamazaki as Yuki.

The series comes from creator Ruruu Minase and it began back in 2012 in Manga Time magazine. It’s got four volumes out so far, which is pretty good compared to a number of four-panel series.

Plot concept: Ooya-san wa Shishunki! follows the antics of Chie Satonaka, a middle schooler who is a landlord. Though she appears a little girl, at times, she behaves more like a grandmother, doing all the cleaning, cooking and housework around the apartment. Despite her responsibilities, she still enjoys a normal middle school life with her friends.
