X-Men Apocalypse Olivia Munn PsylockeWe got our first look at the X-Men: Apocalypse film, which arrives on May 27th, 2016, back with its first trailer in early December. With the film a few months away, the Super Bowl is often one of the best ways to get a big audience for your project worldwide and this film is no exception. The spot is short and hits on familiar elements from the trailer while mixing in a little new material along the way as well.

Following up from the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past, the film will star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Evan Peters, Oscar Isaac, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Rose Byrne, Ian McKellen, Olivia Munn, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Ben Hardy, Lucas Till and Lana Condor. The new film is being written by Simon Kinberg with the screenwriters of X-Men 2, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris.

Plot concept: Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
