‘Bokumachi’ Manga Gets End Date

2 min read

Bokumachi / ErasedWhile there’s always the appeal of a long-running and sprawling series, there are some books that definitely end better shorter rather than longer. Such looks to be the case for Bokumachi, aka ERASED in its overseas listings. The manga by Kei Sanbe began back in the summer of 2012 in Young Ace and now is set to end with the March 4th, 2016 installment in the magazine. With seven volumes out and one more to go, a solid eight volume run makes it quite appealing. And it has us curious to see how much the animation team knew going into it as we might get a solid ending out of the adaptation as well.

The anime adaptation is directed by Tomohiko Itou based on the scripts by Taku Kishimoto and was produced at A-1 Pictures. Keigo Sasaki handled the character designs. The cast includes Shinnosuke Mitsushima as Satoru Fujinuma, Tao Tsuchiya as Satoru Fujinuma (10-year-old), Aoi Yuuki as Kayo Hinazuki, Chinatsu Akasaki as Airi Katagiri, You Taichi as Kenya Kobayashi, Akari Kito as Hiromi Sugita, Ayaka Nanase as Osamu, Yukitoshi Kikuchi as Kazu, Takahiro Mizushima as Jun Shiratori, Minami Takayama as Sachiko Fujinuma and Mitsuru Miyamoto as Gaku Yashiro.

Plot concept: The series focuses on Satoru Fujinuma, a struggling manga creator who suffers from a peculiar phenomenon called REVIVAL, where he is forcibly transferred back in time moments before a life-threatening occurrence. Satoru soon realizes that this phenomenon will continue to occur only to him until he successfully eliminates the cause of this threat.
