King Records Sets ‘Tetsujin 28’ Blu-ray Anime Box Set

Tetsujin 28 HeaderHere’s one from the recent past that a lot of us likely forgot about with the 2004 anime series Tetsujin 28. The series was originally released in 2004 and saw release in North America through Geneon Entertainment on DVD but has ended up out of print after all these years. Now the series and more is getting a full box set release on March 23rd, 2016 on Blu-ray from King Records. Priced at 40,000 yen, it’ll include the twenty-six episode series across four Blu-ray discs while the fifth will include the movie. The sixth disc will be a CD that includes the music collection for the series. A new booklet is planned and no other extras are yet detailed for it.

The show was directed by Yasuhiro Imagawa based n the screenplay by Yamaguchi Ryota.

Plot concept: In post-WWII Japan, Prof. Shikishima has built up Shikishima Industries to be a technological powerhouse, working on developing robots. However, at the heart of their success lurks a dark secret from the war, something that cost the life of Prof. Kaneda, the mentor of Prof. Shikishima. Now Kaneda’s son, Shoutarou, is about to learn the truth, and it will change him forever.
