The summer 2015 anime feature film Meiji Tokyo Renka: Yumihari no Serenade has finally gotten its home video release plans set as it’s now scheduled for an April 27th, 2016 release. Priced at 7,800 yen for the DVD, it’ll come with a bonus drama CD that extends the fun of the film for fans. No other extras are listed at this point and no Blu-ray is solicited either.
The film, based on the game, was directed by Hiroshi Watanabe with Yukiko Uozumi as the co-director. They worked off of the script from Yoshiko Nakamura and character designs from Karu were adapted by Akio Hirakawa.
Plot concept: On an evening lit by a crimson full moon, an ordinary high school girl named Mei Ayazuki meets a self-proclaimed magician named Charlie at a festival. Through Charlie’s magic, she time-travels to the Meiji era in Tokyo, where she meets and falls in love with various great historical figures from that time period.
