The latest sales rankings out of Japan have arrived and there’s a pretty good mix of titles, though not a lot in the way of sales, that takes the top ten spots. Persona 3 The Movie 3 dominates here with just over 17,000 copies on Blu-ray plus almost 3,000 more on DVD in its limited edition form. Movies tend to do pretty well since they have a wider reach and are one-off purchases for the most part. The first installment of the second season of Haikyu!! is pretty strong as well with 8,500 Blu-ray copies and 7,800 DVD copies, which if it keeps consistent will likely generate a third season as well. Beyond that, things are pretty low with titles like Lupin the III scraping at 2,000 and Dance with Devils attempting to hit 1,000 but falling short. Next week we get to see what the real response is to Osomatsu-san with the first volume dropping. Even Attack on Titan: Junior High couldn’t scrape together 1,000 Blu-ray sales at this point since fans just want the real thing.
