The anime adaptation of Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA has everything in order for the home video release from Media Factory as the finalized cover artwork and packaging has arrived for the third volume. That release is scheduled for a February 24th, 2016 release and we’ve now got the full packaging layout design. The show is getting a standard six-volume release for the twelve episode run which will begin on December 25th, 2015 with new volumes coming out monthly. The DVD releases are priced at 6,480 yen each while the Blu-ray’s are at 7,560 yen. They’re not listed as limited edition releases but each release will come with a CD of some sort as well as a booklet with short stories, drawn material, and storyboards.
The series is based on the spinoff manga by Chuugaku Akamatsu and Shogako Tachibana that began in 2010. With the opening sequence, it’ll be performed by nano with the song Bull’s Eye while the ending is being done by some of the actors from the show under the name Team AA with Pulse. Thet grouping brings voice actresses Ayane Sakura and Rie Kugimiya together.
The show comes off of the original Aria the Scarlet Ammo series that previously had an anime series in 2011, which FUNimation simulcast and released on home video. The new series will be animated at Doga Kobo with Takashi Kawabata directing based on overall composition by Fumihiko Shimo and character designs by Miwa Oshima.
The previously announced cast includes Ayana Sakura as Akari Mamiya, Rie Kugimiya as Aira H. Kanzaki, Ai Kayano as Shino Sasaki, M.A.O. as Raika Hino, Aoi Yuuki as Kirin Shima, Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Urara Takachiho, Yui Horie as Kyōchikutō, Ayaka Imamura as Hina Fūma, Inori Minase as Nonoka Mamiya, Momo Asakura as Yuyu Aizawa and Chinami Hashimoto as Yaya Aizawa.
Plot concept: A young girl idolizes the world-renowned S-ranked butei Kanzaki H. Aria and plans to follow in her footsteps. However, her test grades her out as only an E-rank! All is not lost, however, as Aria agrees to give her some pointers. Can Aria help this newcomer become a first-rate butei?
