Thunderbolts HeaderMarvel Comics is getting ready to bring back a fan favorite title that hasn’t been around for a bit with Thunderbolts. The new series is being set for a May 2016 launch with full details to come later, but we do know that the series will come from writer Jim Zub and artist Jon Malin. Marvel’s brought out a look at the cover for the first issue from Malin as well as the variant cover being produced by Mark Bagley.

“Doing the right thing is different than being good,” says writer Jim Zub in an speaking with Marvel.com. “We’ve assembled a potent mix of characters to explore with big drama, big action and unexpected twists along the way. The new team is stacked with powerful personalities and a mission that’s going to tear them up and get right to their core. I’m excited about putting them in tough spots and letting the sparks fly.”

Plot concept: From the ashes of AVENGERS: STANDOFF, the Winter Soldier assembles the original Thunderbolts – Moonstone, the Fixer, MACH-V, Atlas and a mysterious new character for a dangerous new mission. One that will put them at the forefront and in the crosshairs of the Marvel Universe!

The threats no one else is prepared for. The difficult choices no one else can make. The Thunderbolts are ready to answer the call.
