After unleashing the first promotional spot for the home video release of Girls Beyond the Wasteland yesterday, Warner Bros. Japan now has the actual solicitation information showing up at retail channels. The twelve episode series is getting a six-volume release on DVD and Blu-ray that are both listed as limited editions. The Blu-ray’s are priced at 7,000 yen each while the DVDs are at 6,000 yen each. The show is set to debut on March 25th, 2016 with its first volume with subsequent volumes arriving monthly.
The series was directed by Takuyo Sato based on the series composition from Yuniko Ayana and character designs by Takayuki Noguchi. Project No.9 handled the animation for the adaptation.
The cast includes Seiichirou Yamashita as Buntarou Houjou, Haruka Chisuga as Sayuki Kuroda, Kana Hanazawa as Yuuka Kobayakawa, Satomi Sato as Uguisu Yuuki, Satomi Akesaka as Teruha Andou and Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Atomu Kai.
Plot Concept: Haunted by career assessments and his lack of a real plan for the future, Buntarou’s days are occupied by his part time job and lazing around with his friends. But when his aloof classmate Saiyuki asks him out, he has no clue he’s about to get the most random career counseling session ever. Completely certain that creating a lucrative bishoujo game would set Buntarou on the path to success, Saiyuki challenges him to go beyond this wasteland of a world.
