Sixth ‘Game of Thrones’ Season Scheduled As More Sought

2 min read

Game of Thrones Season 6 VisualFans of Game of Thrones have a lot of anticipation coming up as HBO has now set a formal premiere date for the sixth season with April 24th, 2016. It’s going to be a very different season for fans, especially of the books, as it’s in uncharted territory and it’s uncertain how many cues or directions the team is taking from original creator George R.R. Martin. Martin has said this past week that he won’t be getting the next book in the series out prior to this season and that’s just causing all kinds of conundrums for fans of the books that don’t want to be spoiled before they can read it.

The sixth season won’t be the last either as HBO at the Television Critics Association presentations have indicated that they’re looking to green light the seventh and eighth seasons as well. That’s almost a guarantee at this point as it’s not something that they would say publicly and that clearly unless it was going to happen, less the wrath of the fans come after them.

The season five finale drew in 8.11 million viewers, marking it as the larger for the show.
