The sprawling Gundam franchise just can’t help adding new titles to its ranks and the Gundam Build Fighters subset is no exception. After some other material ran for the last couple of years since the 2013 anime series originally came out, it’s now been revealed that a new title called Gundam Build Fighters AR will land with the January 26th, 2016 issue of Gundam Ace magazine. The new series will focus on the character of Tatsuya Yuki from the show and is bing illustrated once again by Kiyoshi Konoyo, working off of the concept by Tomohiro Chiba
Original series concept: The story is set in the near future when GunPla Battles, competitions that pit Gundam plastic models against each other, have become popular worldwide in the “Second GunPla Boom.” Sei Iori, a first-year middle-school student and the only son of a model shop owner, is talented at building GunPla, but inexperienced in the GunPla Battles. He encounters a mysterious boy named Reiji, who happens to be an accomplished Gundam Fighter. Together, they strive for the GunPla Battle world championships.
