2 min read

God Eater HeaderThe final episodes of God Eater were promised for early 2016 and they’ve now been slated for a broadcast run in Japan according to the official site. The final four episodes of the thirteen episode series will premiere on March 5th on TV Tokyo, BS11, Sun TV and KBS Kyoto at 6:30pm. The ninth episode arrived back in September and added to an already problematic production that saw delays with the premiere episode back in July.

Episode 10 “Sange” (A Glorious End)
Episode 11 “Meteor Light”
Episode 12 “Dai-Ichi Butai” (First Unit)
Episode 13 “Renge” (Lotus Flower)

Daisuki simulcast the series and it’s expected they’ll have the final episodes as well. Crunchyroll was able to do a delay-cast on them as well, and we’ll likely see it there as well eventually.

The show has set Takayuki Hirao to direct it. Hirao has a solid backgruond to be sure and has done work for the games, but he also worked on the Gyo OVA, which is hilariously vicious, as well as the fifth installment of the Garden of Sinners project. The project has also brought on board Keita Shimizu to handle the character designs for the series, which will be interesting as he handled the animation on Fate/Zero.

The cast includes Ryuichi Kijima as Renka Utsugi, Hiroaki Hirata as Lindow Amamiya, Maaya Sakamoto as Alisa Illinichina Amiella, Kazuya Nakai as Soma Schicksal, Daisuke Sakaguchi as Kota Fujiki and Sayaka Ohara as Sakuya.

Plot concept: The Far East, 2071. The domain of the mad gods. In the early 2050s, unknown life forms called “Oracle cells” begin their uncontrolled consumption of all life on Earth. Their ravenous appetite and remarkable adaptability earn them first dread, then awe, and finally the name “aragami”. In the face of an enemy completely immune to conventional weapons, urban civilization collapses, and each day humanity is driven further and further toward extinction. One single ray of hope remains for humanity. Following the development of “God Arcs”—living weapons which incorporate Oracle cells—their wielders are organized into an elite force. In a world ravaged by mad gods, these “God Eaters” fight a desperate war…
