The new winter 2016 series from Kyoto Animation with Myriad Colors Phantom World has now had its Japanese home video release plans set by distributor Pony Canyon. The show is getting a seven volume release that begins on April 6th, 2016 and concludes on October 5th, 2016. It’s not listing anything as special or limited editions so we get the Blu-ray’s priced at 7,344 yen each and the DVDs at 6,264 yen each for the run.
The series will premiere on January 6th, 2016 debut on Tokyo MX1 among others.
The show will be directed by Tatsuya Ishihara while Kazumi Ikeda is serving double duty as the chief animation director as well as working on the character designs. Fumihiko Simo will be handling the series composition while animation is of course handled by Kyoto Animation.
The cast includes Hiro Shimono as Haruhiko Ichijou, Sumire Uesaka as Mai Kawakami, Saori Hayami as Reina Izumi, Maaya Uchida as Koito Minase, Azusa Tadokoro as Ruru, Misaki Kuno as Kurumi Kumamakura, Kikuko Inoue as Arisu Himeno and Daisuke Sakaguchi as Shousuke Morohashi.
Plot concept: In the near future, spirits and monsters are in full sight. A boy leads a group of people with special abilities as they plot against a massive organization that takes advantage of a certain incident and eventually know the truth about their world in the process.
