The latest sales rankings have arrived from Japan with what’s moving and doing there with the home video market and there’s pretty much nothing to talk about other than the fact that one release has utterly dominated. And dominated in a way that really boggles when compared to a lot of previous chart material. The special edition of the Love Live! The School Idol Movie release moved 194,000 units in its debut plus 8,500 regular edition on Blu-ray, cruising easily over the 200,000 units mark to make it a monster release on the anime charts. The second ranked title is the final Sound! Euphonium release and that has what’s considered a high number at 6,300 units. suffice to say, everything looking small at this point and even the first Digimon Adventure Tri release couldn’t chart all that high overall.
The school idol side of the anime market is likely to get an even bigger push now that this thing has crushed so big.
