Projects going live in 2016 are getting some end of year attention via various festivals and events and the latest one to get the nod is Qualidea Code. While no season has been set, the series comes from creators Sou Sagara, Koushi Tachibana and Wataru Watari under the new group named Speakeasy. The series has launched its official site and revealed the main group working on it along with a visual and the first promotional video.
The series is directed by Kenichi Kawamura based on the story/script by Speakeasy. Character designs are being done by Hisayuki Tabata with A-1 Pictures handling the animation.
Plot concept: The story takes place in a world where people continue their war against the “unknown”—the enemy of humanity. Children who have been evacuated to a cold sleep facility during the invasion by the “unknown” several decades ago wake up from their slumber and learn that their bodies developed some supernatural forces. In order to protect the country from the “unknown” emerging from the Tokyo bay gate, the boys and girls wage battles in the defense the cities of Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Chiba.
