As we near the end of Magical Somera-chan, I have found myself enjoying it a lot more than I expected, though it’s still hit or miss, as is the nature of comedy shows. With this episode, the girls all help out at a part time job that involves them going to a strange home where they get to spin some massive gears. Only in a show like this would it make sense in its own weird way while generating humor as they basically bring to life something. Did they end up working with a supervillain without realizing it? Isn’t Somera supposed to be the supervillain in the end? The show works the creation of artificial life here well enough as it plays on some familiar parodies and you can’t help but laugh at how it all comes together.

In Summary:
So… that was a thing. I mean, I get it, and I laughed, but the show also felt more subdued this time around both in tone and color design which gave it a bit of a darker feeling overall. It has some sharp moments and I was totally amused by the artificial construct as well as how the girls unknowingly brought it to life, but there’s not too much memorable here outside of a sight gag or two.
