Katherine Waterston Boards ‘Alien: Covenant’ As Lead

2 min read

Alien CovenantWith a strong role in Inherent Vice and a much bigger role coming in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them next year, it’s no surprise se to see Katherine Waterston garnering more attention for high-profile projects. The latest news is that she’s boarding the Alien: Covenant film, the post-Prometheus film from director Ridley Scott and writer John Logan. She’ll star opposite of Michael Fassbender, who is returning from his role in the first film, but so far it looks like Noomi Rapace might not be in this one or at least not be a primary figure in it. Shades of Newt from Alien 3, perhaps?

The film us scheduled for release on October 6th, 2017.

Plot concept: Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
