Originally appearing in the January 2016 installment of Comic Kairaktuen, After Summer After is a new chapter from Bosshi that follows up a previous three-page tease that had come before. Bosshi is certainly one of the more popular folks out there these days with their work and I thoroughly enjoyed Peachy-Butt Girls previously, which was my first FAKKU book at that. So with a new installment of work from them here as part of the subscription, I was certainly game. As are the characters in it as it deals with a far too familiar situation and takes it to its logical hentai conclusion. With a wonderful journey, that is.
This story introduces us to Souji, a young man who has had a bit of an accident and is now all hospitalized with some major cast work on his arms. It’s put him in a position of being unable to move, which is bad, but the worst part is that he’s missing out on the fun summer activities with his girlfriend, Oriha. The pair aren’t even able to see the summer fireworks that are being shot off that night. Luckily for Souji, however, Oriha is the kind of girlfriend that will try and do her best for him. So she gets all done up in her yukata and comes back that night to let him at least have that little taste of summer with her. Naturally, nobody else is around at all because they’re all up on the roof watching fireworks.
What’s a guy to do? Well, he doesn’t exactly beg Oriha, but he cajoles and pleased enough for her to make him feel good. And she cautiously obliges, since there’s the whole potentially getting caught thing. Some of it feels a little awkward in the scripting as she pleasures him and comes across as never having done it before, almost virginal in many ways, but when the two get more and more in sync with each other over the course of the encounter she comes across as a lot more confident. Perhaps just certain areas weren’t a part of their routine before? Regardless, Oriha is amusing in how she provides for a double-whammy of fetishes as the yukata works well enough, but when he suggests they live out the fantasy of sex in a hospital she reveals that she has her swimsuit on underneath. And not just any swimsuit, but her school swimsuit. Suffice to say, poor Souji never has a chance. And he’s loving it just as much as she is.
In Summary
Bosshi pulls together a large number of fetishes in this installment and across the sixteen pages handles them masterfully. The story is cute enough and you do find yourself wanting to see more of this couple and just where their sexual relationship goes – as well as their playful side in general. The story is simple enough and well executed with good layouts, a smooth flow and the very polished and detailed designs that you expect from Bosshi. There’s a great visual quality to it overall, though Oriha as a character design didn’t quite do it for me overall. But the sequences are very erotic and with the way it plays to yukata, hospitals, swimsuits, and more, well, you’ll definitely find something to enjoy here.
