Japanese ‘Kagewani’ Anime Home Video Release Scheduled

KagewaniThe short-form series Kagewani is continuing its broadcast run as part of the Super Ultra Anime Time block and now the folks at Directions have set up the home video release plans. The single season series is now scheduled for a December 26th, 2015 release on DVD only priced at 1,944 yen. Listed at 102 minutes, it’ll contain the thirteen episode run. No extras are listed with the release at the moment.

The series is directed by Tomoya Takashima based on the series composition by Hiromu Kumamoto. Character designs were done by Ryouma Hori and Ami Fujikawa while monster design were created by Shunsaku Matsurida. The series is animated at Tomovies.

The cast for the series includes Tomokazu Sugita as Bamba Sousuke and Ryotaro Okiayu as Masataka Kimura. Mai Aizawa, Okuhata Yukinori, Handa Yusuke, Kosugi Fumiya and Morishita Yukiko are also on board in undisclosed roles.

Plot concept: Mysterious monsters that appear and attack in present time. The people can only be played with by them in this extreme situation. Why do these monsters appear to attack people…? Sousuke Banba, a scientist, searches for the truth with the keyword “Kagewani” A new feeling of panic suspense animation begins.
