The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
Doamayger-D had some fun the last time around in revealing that the dart guy was actually Daijirou’s father, which means it’s time to shift gears. This episode introduces Robert from America that has come with his own bit of automation to deal with things called the Jidon. Robert intends to save the day with his robot and that just ticks off Diajirou and he goes for a straight out competition with the Jidon robot. He’s so easily egged on into making sweets as Doamayger that you have to laugh at the ease of manipulation. Amusingly, the Jidon has some pretty intense abilities in sweet making and it pushes things to the edge in a way that the other opponents have not. It’s a surprising twist overall and one that plays well to shake things up a bit.
In Summary:
The addition of Robert is definitely spot on hilarious, right down to the pompadour that’s applied to his trucks similar to the plane we saw in the preview last week. The show gives Daijirou a real challenge here and it’s one that he brought on himself with his pride being wounded. Stylistically the same as before, it’s still a welcome shake up of the routine in a good way and has me curious to see what it’ll do next, even if you can see most of the basic plot points for it. It simply excels at execution and style.
