The upcoming installment of Weekly Shonen Jump due out next Monday has had an early snap show up in regards to My Hero Academia that will delight fans. According to the scan, it looks like Nobuhiko Okamoto will be taking on the role of Katsuki Bakugo in the series. Okamoto has a long list of shows that’s been involved in, including serving as the lead in Ace of the Diamond as well as being in Bakuman and Assassination Classroom among others. He also earned a lot of attention for his role in A Certain Magical Index as Accelerator. He can currently be seen in Starmyu and Seraph of the End.
The previously announced cast includes Daiki Yamashita as Izuku and Kenta Miyake as All Might.
The series is set to be directed by Kenji Nagasaki, who handled the recent Classroom Crisis series. Yousuke Kuroda is working on the scripts while Yoshihiko Umakoshi is in charge the character designs.
Originally starting back in the summer of 2014, after creator Kouhei Horikoshi Barrage series ended, My Hero Academia is one of the more well-received books in the English edition of Weekly Shonen Jump.
Horikoshi received a Tezuka Award Honorable Mention in 2006 after publishing several short stories in Akamaru Jump. His first serialized work was Oumagadoki Doubutsuen back in 2010.
