When we last heard from Australian distributor Madman Entertainment about their plans for the Samurai Flamenco series back in February, they were holding off on making any decisions about it until things got settled when it came to whether the show would have an English language dub created for it or not. That now seems to have been settled as it was announced earlier this month that the show will be getting a DVD-only release on February 10th, 2016. The eleven episode run is being produced on a single DVD (though we suspect that may be in error) with just the clean opening and closing sequences as the extras. It’s priced at $49.95 RRP for the region.

The series was broadcast during the fall 2013 season and ran for twenty-two episodes. It was picked up for North American release by Aniplex USA while Anime Limited has the UK rights for the series. No details about releases in either of those regions have been revealed yet.

Plot concept: Male model Masayoshi Hazama decides to fulfil his childhood dream of becoming a superhero, despite having no superpowers or the technology to create a high-powered suit. He becomes the hero Samurai Flamenco and begins to fight crime in the name of justice no crime is too small for him! Police officer Hidenori Goto finds out about Samurai Flamenco… More »
