2 min read

Yu Yu Hakusho Dybex French EditionsFrench distributor Dybex has announced a new release that’s definitely looking appealing as they’re planning to bring out the Yu Yu Hakusho series on Blu-ray next year. The company is looking to bring out the 112 episode series with two Blu-ray collections with an even split of episodes that will have six Blu-ray discs per set to hold it all. No pricing or dates have been revealed yet, nor any technical specs.

The series originally aired back in 1992 to 1997 with Studio Pierrot animating it. FUNimation picked up the North American license in the early 2000’s and has released it on both DVD and Blu-ray here. The property is based off of the manga of the same name by Yoshihiro Togashi which ran from 1990 to 1994, culminating in 19 volumes. Togashi’s also well known for his work on the Hunter X Hunter series that he created as well as the short series Level E.

Plot concept: From cutting classes to brawling in the streets, Yusuke Urameshi is not your typical role model. In fact, this kid’s nothing more than a fourteen-year-old delinquent with a talent for trouble. But in a single selfless act Yusuke dies while saving another. For such noble sacrifice he is given a second chance at life, but it’s to be a life far different than the one left behind. Now a Spirit Detective, the young man must track down demons and humans alike who desire to rule over the three realms of reality.
