Dame na Watashi ni Koi Shite KudasaiFans of Aya Nakahara’s manga series Lovely Complex will want to take note here as the creators most current work, Dame na Watashi ni Koi Shite Kudasai, has gotten the go ahead for a live-action drama adaptation in Japan. With details to come in the future, it marks a pretty good note for the creator to see her work reach a wider audience. The series began in Monthly YOU back in 2013 and has seven volumes so far. Her most well known work is Lovely Complex, which ran for seventeen volumes and had a live-action theatrical film, both of which Viz Media has released in North America. Discotek Media picked up the anime series adaptation a few years ago.

Plot concept: The unemployed Shibata Michiko is betting everything she has on her romance with a younger man—literally. In order to keep him happy, she deprives herself of the things she wants and buys him expensive clothing and accessories. Since she’s flat out broke, she needs to find a job before she starves to death and loses her young love interest. However, Michiko discovers that the boy was never interested in her romantically. Depressed at being dumped and after a series of unsuccessful interviews, she bumps into Kurosawa—an intimidating former boss she used to dislike.
