The Nielsen BookScan rankings have arrived via ICv2 with what topped the charts in the bookstore market when it comes to adult graphic novels and manga for the month of October. With the return of The Walking Dead, it’s no surprise to see one or more books in the chart here and the Kirkman series nabbed four spots including the top spot. Image Comics also grabbed the third spot with the new Saga release while Bitch Planet debuts its first trade at fifteenth.
This month also sees the trades for Star Wars beginning its movement, which will be interesting to see if they become evergreen titles. Star Wars Volume 1 nabs the seventh spot while the first Darth Vader trade lands at fourteenth.
On the manga side, Viz Media has a strong month here with Naruto‘s final volume taking the second spot while the three volumes of Tokyo Ghoul took the fourth through sixth spots with ease. The publisher also took the nineteenth spot with the first volume of One-Punch Man. They were also the only manga publisher to chart this month.
