2 min read

Ken MarinoThe second season of Agent Carter continues to move along its various stages of production and now a new bit of casting has arrived via Variety. Its’ been revealed that Ken Marino of The State has joined the show for the season to take on the role of Joseph Manfredi, a lesser known character that’s a mob boss. He’s described as a “volatile leader in the Maggia crime syndicate who will help Peggy Carter’s (Atwell) adversaries further their agenda.”

Marino was also recently seen in the Netflix original series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp where he reprised his role from the original film.

“We’ve loved working with Ken ever since he played a gay ex-demon for us on ‘Reaper,’ and we were so happy he was available for this role. His range is incredible — he can go from comedy to romance to drama with ease. Writing for him is easy, because he can do pretty much anything. And he used to have a karaoke room in his house, which makes him even more awesome.”

Jeph Loeb of Marvel TV also commented, saying, “At Marvel, even our villains need a certain degree of charm as they make life difficult for our heroes. Ken brings a quality to Joseph Manfredi that only serves to make him even more menacing, adding another layer of depth to our already outstanding supporting cast.”

The series stars Hayley Atwell with recent confirms of James D’Arcy, Dominic Cooper and Enver Gjokaj as coming back and others being finalized.

Plot concept: Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home — and perhaps even a new love — she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.
