Anime Limited Confirms ‘Comet Lucifer’ Acquisition

Comet Lucifer Crunchyroll HeaderWith the series Comet Lucifer streaming in the UK and Ireland via Viewster, Anime Limited has confirmed that they themselves have picked up the rights to this new series. The company has also confirmed that there will be a home video release some time in 2016 with details to come later as one would expect.

“One of the things we love at Anime Limited is watching an original work by a studio or specific person. In this instance Comet Lucifer is the first original work by 8-Bit Studio” says Andrew Partridge, President of Anime Limited. “The style of the series is something that really caught my eye. It reminded me a lot of Eureka Seven, which I’m a big fan of. I’m really looking forward to seeing what people think of it.”

The original series is directed by Yasuhiyo Kikuchi based off of the script and composition by Yuuichi Nomura, who came up with the overall plan for the show. Atsushi Nakayama is serving as the series director while Yuuichi Takahashi is handling character design and chief animation director duties. The series is being animated at studio 8bit.

The series stars Yuusuke Kobayashi as Sougo Amagi, Ayaka Ohashi as Felia, Rie Takahashi as Kaon Lanchester, Takuma Terashima as Roman Valov, Ayaka Suwa as Otto Motou and Inori Minase as Mo Litica Tzetzes Ura,

Plot concept: Gift, a world covered in glittering blue crystals called gifdium. Sougo Amagi is a boy who lives in the town of Garden Indigo, which has prospered from the mining of these crystals. Sougo, whose hobby is collecting rare crystals, one day becomes involved in a dispute between classmates Kaon, Roman, and Otto. He wanders deep into the ruins of a mine and discovers an underground lake. There, Sougo meets a mysterious girl with blue hair and red eyes. Who is this girl, and what will their meeting bring? The door to an adventure opens with their newly formed bond.
