K 2015 Anime HeaderWith the second season of this property arriving on October 2nd, 2015 with K: Return of Kings, King Records has brought out a pretty helpful video (for Japanese audiences admittedly) that delves into the first season with a thirty-minute digest video. The recently brought out a two-minute digest piece, but obviously this one goes a lot further and showcases a lot more of the material.

The original series received a rebroadcast this summer in Japan that began on July 3rd with new episodes running every Friday until the premiere arrives.

The new season is set to be directed by Shingo Suzuki, who will also serve as the character designer, and GoHands will produce the animation. Suzuki isn’t unfamiliar with the property, having directed the first season and the film. The property had new material coming out at the end of December 2014 with the sequel manga from Yui Kuroe, that picks up after the film, but how connected that will be to the larger anime universe remains to be seen.

Viz Media has released the TV series on DVD/BD in North America after providing it with an English language dub.

Series concept: Shiro is an easygoing teenager content with just being a student – until his seemingly perfect life is halted when a bloodthirsty clan, glowing red with fire, attempts to kill him in the streets. Unbeknownst to Shiro, he is suspected of murdering a member of their clan and will need a miracle to escape their vengeance. Miraculously, a young man named Kuroh Yatogami swings in and aids Shiro in his getaway, only to reveal he’s also after Shiro’s life.

Now a hunted man, Shiro will have to evade the clans of seven powerful kings and desperately try to prove his innocence – before it’s too late!
