The latest sales rankings out of Japan for anime on Blu-ray and DVD have arrived and this week brings in several first volumes of summer series, getting us underway with the trends. The top of the list is the first installment of Charlotte, which while doing well is certainly weaker compared to some previous series such as Angel Beats. But each series is its own beast. The finale for Kimiuso hit about as expected and is in line with past volumes. Overlord looks to underperform here, though we still suspect we’ll see a second season based on the huge impact the show has had on the novels.
We’re also really glad to see that the debut of the second Mobile Suit Gundam Victory box set has done so well with just under 2,400 units moved. More Gundam, please!
