Victor Entertainment is bringing out an oldie but goodie later this year on Blu-ray with what looks to be an actual high definition transfer as opposed to an upscale with Dokonjou Gaeru, which is also known literally as Frog With Guts!. The series comes from TMS and aired during 1972 to 1974 for 103 episodes. The new Blu-ray release is being done as two box sets with both of them arriving on December 11th, 2015 priced at 42.800 yen each.
Each set will spread its run of episodes across five discs, which should work well with the full frame material. No extras are listed with the set at this time, which isn’t a surprise.
Plot concept: When Hiroshi was fighting against his rival Gorillaimo, he stumbled over a stone and fell onto a frog. To be surprised, the frog was still alive and it named itself Pyonkichi.
