The summer 2015 film Sinbad: Soratobu Hime to Himitsu no Shima has come and gone from theaters and now Pony Canyon Japan has set the home video release plans for it. Like a lot of movies aimed at the younger set, it’s getting a DVD-only release with no Blu-ray planned at the time – which is certainly unfortunate with the look of the film and the visuals. The film is now set for a November 25th, 2015 release for the 50 minute feature and it will be priced at 3,240 yen. The cover artwork to the right replicates the main theatrical poster for it.
Extras for the release include the theatrical trailers and a pilot version of the film that was created.
The film stars Tomo Muranaka as Sinbad, Momoko Tanabe as Sana, Nao Nagasawa as Ali, Hiroko Yakushimaru as Latifa and Takeshi Kaga as Captain Razak.
The first is directed by Shinpei Miyashita based on the script by Kaeko Hayafune and overall composition by Hiroyuki Kawasaki. Yoshiharu Satou serves as both chief animation director and the character designer. Nippon Animation and Shirogumi are producing the project.
Plot concept: Sinbad dreams of voyaging to an unknown world. He and his pet monkey Mimi encounter Sana, a girl riding a flying wooden horse. Then, the wind shifts.
