Second ‘Valkyrie Drive -Mermaid-‘ Anime PV Arrives

Valkyrie Drive Mermaid HeaderWe got out first promotional video for Valkyrie Drive -Mermaid~ just over a month ago and now the second one has arrived after getting some of the details of the series premiere earlier this week. The promo is a solid one in general and also gives us a preview of the ending theme song from Hitomi Harada. The new series is now set to go live on October 10th, 2015 on AT-X before moving to regional broadcasters on the 12th and satellite service BS11 on October 17th. The mixed media project Valkyrie Drive updated on the cast recently with the full list and it was also revealed that Hitomi Harada will be handling the opening theme song while Yuka Iguchi and Mikako Izawa will be doing the end song, all of them are being done as their characters.

With plans for a console game and smartphone game in the works, the TV series is being developed that will play a key part in the overall promotion scheme. Animated by ARMS, the series will be directed by Hikaru Kaneko based on scripts by Yousuke Kuroda. Kaneko is also handling the character designs for the series.

The previously announced cast includes:

Plot concept: The “beautiful girl sexy battle action” anime is set on five artificial islands. A girl named Mamori Tokonome is transferred to one of those islands, “Mermaid.” When Mamori is attacked, a newly transferred girl named Mirei saves her. The enemy doesn’t stop, however, and the two are soon cornered. Just when they think all hope is lost, Mirei kisses Mamori, and Mamori turns into a sword. Mirei then wields the sword and launches a counterattack against their enemies.
