Voice Actor Scott Freeman Sentenced For Three Years

2 min read

Scott FreemanWhen FUNimation kicked off their Broadcast Dub for the High School DxD series earlier this year there was a lot of noise made by fans about the fact that Scott Freeman was replaced as the main male character, Issei Hyodo, since he had done the dub for the first two seasons. FUNimation at the time simply said that there were reasons why it wasn’t going to happen but they didn’t get into detail for reasons that are now made obvious.

Scott Freeman has pleaded guitly to eight counts of possession of child pornography and took a plea bargain that had him waiving his rights to a trial by jury. Freeman has now been sentenced after his convition to a three year sting in the Texas state prison, which is concurrent with a prior sentence. The charges went back to an April 5th, 2015 incident.

It was not made clear what material he had possessed that brought this about or how it happened.

FUNimation has come forth with a brief statement regarding the situation.

In May of 2015, FUNimation became aware of the legal matter involving Scott Freeman, at which time we suspended our relationship with Scott. In the wake of recent news, we have permanently ended the relationship. Any other questions should be directed to Scott Freeman directly.

  1. This is so stupid, it’s not like just having porn in your possession is going to hurt anyone. Save room in prison for the people who actually make the child porn, as well as other bad guys who actually intentionally go out of their way to hurt others. Why just possessing child porn is illegal is beyond me. No wonder jails are overcrowded~ Laws need to focus on the real threats, not some random closet pedos who keep to themselves.

  2. omg,you think that someone who gets enjoyment/their jollies out of children being raped doesn’t deserve punishment??

  3. More than anything they need help/intense counseling. But the reason possession of child porn is illegal is mainly because the children depicted in such videos were actually violated which means there was a victim and anyone who supports such content is equally responsible. As someone studying psychology and counseling I feel pedophiles who do not commit crimes should be treated first before being punished in some cases but I also agree with punishment when it comes to anyone supporting the illegal sickening child porn industry.
