This book has great production quality with six glossy color pages and clean printing throughout. The art is fun with varied female characters, with a bias toward larger breasted women. Unfortunately, there is a smaller amount of censoring in this book. Usually in the form of small thin black boxes, but it does little to actually cover up the body parts.
The first six chapters focus on the unlikely adventures of a young heiress and her butler. Katsuragi’s grandfather was the personal butler for the beautiful Kotoha of the Tsuburaji family until he died of a stroke. Now, even though Katsuragi is the same age as Kotoha, he has decided to answer his grandfather’s wishes and become Kotoha’s new butler.
Seems rather mundane, until Katsuragi learns that Kotoha’s parents are always traveling and never around. Next, he catches Kotoha masturbating in her room. Turns out that she uses masturbation as a stress relief or whenever she gets frustrated with school or family. Unfortunately for Katsuragi, Kotoha catches him watching her and forces him to take off his pants so they are even, having both seen each other naked. Fortunately for Katsuragi, Kotoha is a total nympho!
Their storyline is a good read as they begin with a power trip between them, with Kotoha bossing Katsuragi around and using him as her boy toy. Over time, they both develop feelings for each other, but are unable to share them and this leads to some misunderstandings that threaten to end their special relationship. Can these two find a way to make this unlikely pairing between a rich heiress and a butler work, or are they doomed to be apart?
The rest of this book consists of shorter stories. While they don’t have enough time to build up as much character development as the main story, they are also fun and sexy in their own way. My favorite is the “Run Me Ragged” story, which follows the antics of a pair of girls that start their own sex toy line after their ‘G-rated’ toys become popular. Since they are the only employees, the decide they need a guy to help test their products. As all good male fantasies go, plenty of naughty time ensues when Morikawa applies for the position and his interview involves testing a new line of condoms on the sexy CEO!
In Summary
My Celebrity Girlfriend is the type of eromanga that is fun for everyone and a great introductory book for folks looking to try out this genre. The sex is fun and many of the scenarios are quite humorous. My favorite part is that more than half this book focuses on one storyline and set of characters. This gives the reader a chance to develop interest in the characters compared to some books that are just a collection of one-off stories. My Celebrity Girlfriend also has fun characters getting into both sexy and funny situations without any extreme fetishes. I would highly recommend this book to hentai fans and those curious about this genre for both the art and story quality.
