The Anime Network Begins Streaming ‘Gatchaman Crowds Insight’

Gatchaman Insight Crunchyroll HeaderFollowing through on their promise to bring out Gatchaman Crowds Insight to more services after acquiring it earlier this month, Sentai Filmworks has now had The Anime Network debut the series. The service has revealed the first four episodes of the series, plus the zero episode, with them now available for streaming in its original Japanese language with English subtitles. New episodes are set to go up weekly on the service on Wednesday’s at 3pm ET.

“Originally broadcast in Japan on Nippon TV, the legendary production company Tatsunoko (Speed Racer, Casshern Sins, Southern Cross, Genesis Climber Mospeada, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu) once again produces the 12 episode series, with director Kenji Nakamura (tsuritama, Mononoke) and series composer Toshiya Ono (tsuritama, Perfect Insider) reprising their roles. Also returning are character designer Yûichi Takahashi (tsuritama, Macross Frontier) working from original designs by Kinako, and the music production team of Kazuhiro Watanabe (Wolf Girl & Black Prince, La Corda d’Oro Blue Sky) and Takao Kondo (Brynhildr in the Darkness, Wolf Girl & Black Prince, InuYasha – The Final Act).”

Plot concept: Now a year after the so-called Tachikawa Incident in the summer of 2015, the CROWDS ability–a gift from Berg Katze to Ninomiya Rui, the ability to give the human mind shape and form–is widespread among the masses. The use of the ability is acknowledged and promoted by the Japanese Prime Minister himself, but he faces mounting frustration and suspicion from those who bear ill will against the CROWDS. One day, the prime minister’s flight is attacked by a mysterious group. The time has come for the winged warriors to stride into battle once more…
