It continues to be a good time for fans of the Milky Holmes property as while the series and its follow-ups never gained massive mainstream appeal from the anime community there’ve been a number of projects coming for it. The latest is that a new feature film will arrive in February 2016 that’s been in production for awhile with Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Movie: Gyakushuu no Milky Holmes. The film has brought back the staff from the first two series for it along with the cast. No firm date is set yet and it’s getting a limited run at just eight screens when it debuts as an event.
The feature is directed by Makoto Moriwaki and Hiroaki Sakura based on the script by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu. Seiya Numata is again handling the adaptation of the character designs for the project.
A teaser has been released as well for the film to whet your appetite.
Plot concept: The four members of Milky Holmes are going on a study tour. While soaking in the hot springs among snow monkeys, alarms interrupt the relaxing environment! It was the work of the Thief Empire. A fierce battle between Milky Holmes and the Thief Empire begins, with both sides using their Toys (special powers). Furthermore, with the arrival of the Genius 4, a three-way fight occurs! In the midst of battle, a violent lightning strikes from the sky. Struck by the lightning, the four Milky Holmes girls lose their abilities.
