FUNimation Provides Broadcast Dub Sizzle Reel

1 min read

Broadcast DubWhile FUNimation has gotten some grief for only doing three Broadcast Dubs for the summer season, it’s worth remembering that they had a few holdovers from the spring season that continued on that they’re doing as well.

They’ve now put together a new thirty second hype/sizzle reel for the series that are getting dubs very, very close to their simulcast for folks to check out that enjoy the form. Weirdly, outside of the first couple of seconds, there’s no dialogue at all and just the visuals.

FUNimation’s currently producing Broadcast Dubs for GangstaSky Wizards Academy and Prison School as part of the summer season. They’re also continuing on with The Heroic Legend of ArslanUltimate Otaku Teacher and Ninja Slayer from the spring season.

Which ones are you watching?

  1. I feel like they are cutting back this season, but still trying to kindle that flame. But I don’t know if it is because people aren’t watching, or simple because they have hit some kind of limit. It just feels like they aren’t putting enough effort into this season and the anime that are rather good, like Chaos Dragon or Overlord.

  2. It’s good that they’re cutting back. Realistically, at max 6 shows should be broadcasts dub, but in reality 4 is a good limit

  3. But there aren’t just four. The are three this season (Gangsta, Prison School, Sky Wizard Academy) and five (Ninja Slayers, Arslan, Nagato, Ultimate Otaku Teacher, and Mikgura School Suite-and if you want to count Blood Blockade Battlefront). That not only exceeded the max you set, but utterly destroys the realistic good limit, due to you not recognizing that they are doing way more shows then you think. It’ also go to point out that they are always working on more than just three or four shows at a time when they are not working on broadcast dubs.
