As the anniversary gets moving for the S.H.I.E.L.D. property, Marvel Comics has provided a look at the ninth installment of the current series that’s running that’s due out on August 26th, 2015. And just on that installment alone it has me wanting to dig into the series as a whole. The book features the main story that’s going on from writer Mark Waid and artist Lee Ferguson but we also get a new never-before-published S.H.I.E.L.D. sequence penciled by Jack Kirby and inked by Jim Steranko!
The book also has an addition story in it from Al Ewing and Stefano Caselli that goes into the origin of the new Howling Commandos. “Before they spin out into their very own series later this year, witness the return of Dum Dum Dugan as he steps from the shadows to assemble a team truly unlike any you’ve seen before!”
And, in true and welcome form, the book also includes the very first S.H.I.E.L.D. story by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby!
