Warner Bros. Japan recently finally set the home video release for the complete The File of Young Kindaichi Returns anime series and now they’re showing off the packaging. The set is one that looks pretty good overall as it captures the tone of the original work with its black and white design and it looks like it’ll be coming with a pretty solid booklet in addition to the six discs for the series itself. The show is getting a full box set release on DVD and Blu-ray on August 26th, 2015 priced at 34,800 yen and 39,800 yen respectively. For the Blu-ray, it’ll bring the twenty-five episode spread across six discs in a 4/5/5/4/5/3 division. The release doesn’t indicate what extras, if any, will be included in it or if there are any limited edition/first pressing materials with the set.
The show was simulcast by Crunchyroll when it originally aired and Anime Sols attempted to do a crowdfunding attempting at bringing it over on DVD, but it didn’t get enough interest/support.
Plot concept: Based off of the original manga by Seimaru Amagi, and Fumiya Sato, The File of Young Kindaichi Returns centers on the Hajime Kindaichi, grandson of the famous detective Kosuke Kindaichi. Though he usually appears to be a regular high school student, when a difficult case arises Hajime, along with his childhood friend Miyuki Nanase, police inspector Isamu Kenmochi, and rival Kengo Akechi, use their sharp deduction skills to solve each mystery.
