My Love Story!! | Episode 16
davesimmons: Suna once again keeps the misunderstandings and unsaid feelings from building up. And Takeo shows again that he can be wise even if he isn’t smart or as observant as Suna. Once he learns Yamato was right and other girls could like him, he realizes she’d worry that he was only with her because he thought he had no other choices. So he apologizes and makes it clear that she’s the one he wants no matter how many others might like him.
EmperorBrandon: While there is no doubt at this point who Takeo should be with, I must admit I’ve gotten to find Saijou more endearing than Yamato after getting to know her this arc.
bctaris: Happened to me too; to the point that the stress put on the scenes of Takeo confirming what he loves about Yamato all alone felt like the story trying to refocus my attention back to the ostensible lead. Might have been inevitable, and perhaps the reason a character like Saijou (a girl that isn’t immediately biased against Takeo’s appearance) wasn’t introduced until this point in the story–Yamato’s pretty simple, as a character.
That said, once again a nice surprise that the show even went to the length of taking out the ED just to be able to get the entire arc in this episode.
Sensuifu: And with the way the episode played out, it almost seemed like a finale. Of course it wouldn’t be, but seeing Takeo confess like that and with the closure Saijou got, all wrapped up pretty neatly within the time, it really seemed it could’ve passed as one if it were episode #12 or something. Then again, maybe not considering Suna wouldn’t have had his time to shine.
Paranoia Gent: Hmm, I wonder if there is a chance for SunaXSaijou in the future? I’d like to see Suna hooked up with someone even if he couldn’t care less.
davsimmons: I thought the same thing. Suna has paid much more attention to her than needed to protect Takeo, especially since as he said she was only hurting herself. Suna might have wanted her to confess so that Takeo would realize other girls could like him, but after that she wasn’t “needed” anymore. Yet he still shows up with the boxes of tissues, and talks to her again on the stairwell the next day.
Suna is probably a better fit for her since he’s less innocent than Takeo and can better accept her sharper sides (“I’ll do something horrible to you!”).
Sensuifu: It did seem like Suna was paying more attention to a particular girl more than usual, enough to hint that he might actually be interested in her. I wouldn’t mind seeing him try to develop some closer relationship with her.
